How Can Lipoflavonoid Tinnitus Treatment Help With Meniere’s Disease?
Meniere’s disease is the condition of sensing a ringing or rushing noise in the ears. This is often accompanied by a sense of fullness in the ears, nausea and dizziness. In 1961 a company called sought to develop a treatment for tinnitus. After much testing and experimentation they came to the conclusion that tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid might be the best solution.
The ingredients found in lipoflavonoid are all-natural and include a combination of natural vitamins such as riboflavin, pantothenate, cyanocobalamine, pyridoxin, niacin amide, thiamine, inositol, choline bitartrate, vitamin C, and lemon bioflavonoid complex. Before you get all excited about these chemical sounding names, understand that these are all the scientific names for the various B vitamins with a few other natural vitamins thrown in. The exception to this is the lemon bioflavonoid complex (derived from citrus fruits) which DSE Healthcare found to be extremely beneficial to people suffering with tinnitus.
In the early 1960s a study was done using citrus bioflavonoid in the treatment of people with hearing loss and tinnitus. Although the way in which these bioflavonoids worked to help these people was not fully understood, the study left no doubt that tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid was helpful. It was found to be especially helpful to those patients who experienced both dizziness and hearing loss as a result of Meniere’s disease. It was speculated that these ingredients may have acted as an antihistamine to help clear the ear passages; however, the effect is not reproducible by using chemical antihistamines.
Based on these findings, many ENTs prescribed tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid to people with all kinds of hearing loss – not just that caused by Meniere’s disease. In 1966, the Audiology Center at Walter Reed Hospital undertook a study to determine the effects lemon bioflavonoid complex had on three separate types of hearing loss. They sought to determine whether tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid would help with hearing loss caused by undetermined causes and/or Meniere’s disease, hearing loss caused by ageing, and hearing loss caused by excessive noise.
This study consisted of 75 patients whose causes of hearing loss were fairly well-divided amongst the total. Roughly half of the patients (representative of each type of hearing loss) were given a placebo, while the remainder were given doses of lemon bioflavonoid complex that were 4X greater than the amount usually given. Unfortunately, the only subject whose hearing improved was one of the elderly patients who had received a placebo! Therefore, the researchers found tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid to be ineffective in treating hearing loss; however, it is worth noting that hearing loss and tinnitus are two different conditions.
The majority of experienced ENT specialists understand that clinical proof of the efficacy of tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid is somewhat lacking. Nonetheless, they are also aware of the fact that it seems to work! Many continue to recommend it as a treatment of tinnitus based on the belief that it acts as an antihistamine and is helpful in many; although not all, cases. Specifically, it seems to help Meniere’s sufferers who also suffer from inflammatory conditions such as allergies.
The fact that tinnitus treatment Lipoflavonoid is made up of a powerful combination of immune system boosting vitamins would seem to bear this out. We all know that vitamin C and citrus fruits boost the immune system and help people stay well. The B vitamins are less well-known for having this effect; however, they are just as important as vitamin C in helping the immune system to perform at optimum levels. Both of these water based vitamins are easily depleted in the system, and it may well be that many people suffering from tinnitus are actually suffering from a vitamin deficiency.
The bottom line is, as a tinnitus treatment lipoflavonoid seems to work for many Meniere’s patients, which is why many physicians recommend it. Even if it doesn’t have the desired effects in regards to this condition, many benefit from increasing the intake of B and C vitamins in the diet, thus strengthening their immune system.
